Overland Park, KS, (November 13, 2023) KFN, a leading provider of network infrastructure services, is pleased to report significant progress on its enterprise and data center fiber expansion efforts in the Kansas City (KC) region.
As previously announced, KFN is actively constructing a new 130-mile fiber ring to support the growing needs of large hyper-scale technology companies and enterprise businesses establishing facilities and expanding their operations in the area. This expansion enables KFN to penetrate nearly 10K buildings along the routes, offering clients alternative access solutions, especially for clients seeking higher levels of service from local providers.
The construction of this fiber ring is proceeding ahead of schedule, with lit services already meeting customer-required delivery dates for the anchor tenant currently developing facilities at the Golden Plains Technology Park in the Northland, just east of the Kansas City International Airport.
Notably, several segments of the fiber ring have already reached the 50% construction completion milestone, and KFN anticipates full route deliveries by end of year 2024.
In addition to these milestones, KFN continues to expand its network reach by integrating more “on-net” data centers into its portfolio of connected data centers. Recently, KFN successfully established connectivity with LightEdge-SubTropolis, located at 9050 NE Underground Drive, and Lincoln Rackhouse, situated at 11155 N Airworld Drive, both in the Kansas City metro area.
Jesse Parisoff, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at KFN, expressed enthusiasm about these developments, saying, “The progress made on the KC strategic expansion coupled with the addition of on-net data centers underscore our commitment to delivering KFN’s state-of-the-art network services to our clients. This expansion is particularly significant for communities in the KC Northland, as it ushers in a new era of service provider optionality that we are extremely excited about.”
KFN remains dedicated to enhancing its network infrastructure and services to meet the evolving needs of businesses and communities in the Kansas City region and beyond.
